This novella is a good quick read. Nikan and Essie have been dancing around each other as Friends for months. Finally, Nikan takes the steps to claim Essie during a weekend outing. Along the way there’s some mini drama with a Vamp from Essie’s past. I enjoyed the quick read and also Nikan’s character. He refused to let Essie deny what was between them without being a jerk about it (well, maybe a little bit of a jerk), but for the most part, he made her acknowledge her feelings. Nice transition story in between main stories in the series.
