THE VILLAIN by NANA MALONE

Book Blurb:

Guess who’s having the craziest week EVER?

That would be me.

Sunday: I get dumped by my boyfriend—right before a couple’s bungee jump.

Monday: My little sister informs me that she’s invited our evil, estranged mom to the wedding I’ve spent months helping her plan.

Wednesday: In an effort to escape Massimo Igno, this creepy friend of my future brother-in-law, I somehow end up making out with a tall, dark stranger who looks like Superman’s twin.

Thursday: Tall-dark-and Superman’s-Twin turns out to be my new high-profile client, and my now totally off-limits thinks-he’s-the-boss-of-me client is demanding I drop everything to come with him to Rome. Seriously, did I hunt baby polar bears in a past life or something? What did I do to deserve this? Of course, with my sister’s wedding to plan, I tell him no.

Friday: As it turns out, no isn’t an option. My sexy new “client” is actually a ruthless, dangerous criminal. Apparently, he and the creepy guy I was trying to dodge are arch-enemies. He’s been watching me for weeks, and he wants to use me to get to Massimo.

Unfortunately, I don’t discover any of this until after he steals me from my hotel room in the dead of night and deposits me at his remote British countryside estate.

Saturday: I decide to fight like hell to escape my gorgeous British country estate prison.

Now, the question going into next week is, will I be able to get away from stupid-hot-villain a-hole whose stare makes my tummy do things it shouldn’t, considering he’s kidnapped me?

And what will he do to me if he catches me?

Review:

The fifth book in the Rouge’s Gentlemen series features bad boy Drake and goody goody Daphne. If you remember Drake from the previous books, he’s the mysterious baddie that walks on the good side from time to time.

I will say, he is truly a villain. In this book, he really didn’t redeem himself until the later half of the book. Daphne on the other hand, won my heart in the first chapter. She is being used by pretty much everyone in her life and finally, FINALLY, gets tired of it and comes into her own.

The story is a little slow and doesn’t really pick up until about the half way point. But then, BOOM, it’s fast paced action, adventure, and love on steroids. Lots of the old gang join in to help with getting the truly bad guy in the book, while Drake tries to keep his girl safe.
