FALLEN INK by CARRIE ANN RYAN

Book Blurb:

The Montgomery Ink series continues with a spin-off in Colorado Springs, where a familiar Montgomery finds her place in a new tattoo shop, and in the arms of her best friend.

Adrienne Montgomery is finally living her dreams. She’s opened a tattoo shop with her brother, Shep, and two of her cousins from Denver and she’s ready to take the city by storm with her art—as long as she can handle the pressure. When her new neighbors decide her shop isn’t a great fit for the community, however, she’ll have to lean on the one person she didn’t expect to fall for along the way…her best friend.

Mace Knight takes pride in two things: his art and his daughter. He knows he’s taking a risk by starting over in a new shop with the Montgomerys, but the stakes are even higher when he finds himself wanting Adrienne more than he thought possible.

The two fall fast and hard but they know the rules; they can’t risk their friendship, no matter how hot it is between the sheets and how many people try to stand in their way.

Review:

Fallen Ink continues the family Montgomery’s Inked career but this time in Colorado Springs.

The one thing that these books have in common is body honesty. What I mean by that is they express themselves by the ink on their bodies as well as when they share themselves physically.

Adrienne and Mace are perfect examples of this. They’ve been best friends forever and have a real love for each other, however their romantic feelings seems to only be expressed when they cross that line from friends to lover. All the changing feelings only come out when they are together. Both are afraid to verbally express what they feel for the other person (especially Mace) in fear of ruining their fantastic friendship. What they don’t seem to realize is that their friendship actually enhances their love.

The steamy parts were really steamy and fun, however some of the dialogue was a little repetitive and the unveiling of who was trying to ruin their business was a little bit of a let down. There was no real reason as to why the guy didn’t want them in that business park.

The secondary characters, especially all the sisters really helped round out the story line and makes me interested in reading how their journey goes.

Funniest Scene: Chapter 17

The description of how Adrienne took down her attacker and the guys reaction to it. Hilarious.
