Book Blurb:
Discover New York Times bestselling author Cherrie Lynn’s Deadlock, featuring a team of elite military hackers who will do whatever it takes to protect their country and the women who enter their dark and dangerous world.
Ex – Air Force hacker Jace Adams is the best at what he does. There isn’t a system he can’t infiltrate or a country his team can’t topple. But when he finds Lena Morris, the woman he hates most in the world, on his doorstep, the last thing he wants to do is help her. Or is it really Lena?
Lindsey Morris can’t believe her twin sister, Lena, is missing, with only a cryptic text to find the man Lena once betrayed. But as easy as Jace is to look at, getting him to agree to help her find her sister is a lot harder. He refuses to put his team at risk, until they find out the enemy they’re facing may be one they have in common…
As Lindsey and Jace race against the clock to save her sister, their shaky truce begins to morph into a fire they can’t control. But their lack of trust might be exactly what gets them killed.

Review:
This is my first time reading this author and I enjoyed the first book in the Hacker World series.
Although we get to meet the entire hacker team, this first book focuses on Jace and Lindsey. In college Lindsey’s twin Lena got Jace kicked out of MIT. Now, Lindsey needs Jace’s help getting Lena out of trouble.
Of course there’s the mistaken identity moment when they first meet again and Jace thinks Lindsey is Lena, but thankfully, the author didn’t go down that route of one twin pretending to be the other and the potential lover falls in love with the “wrong” person. Once everyone understands there are 2 of them, the real fun begins.
This was a fun read. I was entertained in all aspects of the book. The romance wasn’t forced, the characters had chemistry. The camaraderie and sense of family was evident within the hacker team even when they were disagreeing with each other.
These were two characters who needed each other. Jace needed someone who loved him unconditionally and Lindsey needed someone to give her purpose and who just needed her.
The epilogue gave a hint that maybe everything is not as it seems and more shenanigans are in the works. Maybe even Lena gets her own story….? I look forward to the rest of this series.
ARC received from NetGalley for an honest review.
Favorite Scene: Chapter 15
