Book Blurb:
All I ever wanted was family. But one mistake cost me everything I’ve ever worked for.
To get it all back, I’ll have to return home and protect the most stubborn woman on the face of the planet. To do that effectively, I’ll need to go undercover as…a Manny.
I didn’t mean to fall for her or the kid. I really should have known better. When you get this close, it’s easy to get burned.
But I’ll do anything to protect them, even if it costs me everything…again.

Review:
Protecting the Heiress is a Spin Off of the Royals series. Former Royal guard and the Queen’s best friend, has started her own private security firm. The first couple featured in this book is Jax, also a former Royal Guard and Neela, a business woman who finds herself in a surprising and dangerous situation. Jax is working undercover as Neela’s manny. Neela has “inherited” her once good friend’s child as well as her significant estate and dangerous acquaintances. But living in close quarters has both Jax and Neela having inappropriate thoughts about each other. Unfortunately when they finally give in, that’s when things take a turn.
This book is more of a set up for the rest of the series. We meet most of the new employees of Royal Elite, as well as learn about Ariel’s past with Prince Tristan, Sebastian’s cousin. That is definitely the book I’m looking forward too.
What I liked most about this book is the humour. I laughed out loud so many times. The dialogue is spot on and definitely NSFW. The convos that Jax and Neela had with their private parts just took me over the edge. Warning: Do Not Drink While Reading This Book.
Favorite Scene: Chapter 9
"Okay. So yeah, those are the parts of my life I need to fix, and if you could possibly bring
Willa back from the dead, that would be amazing."
"Well, I don't know how to do that. But the other things I can sort of make happen.
What about staff? Who do you want in the house?"
"Uh, I don't need staff."
"Sure you do. This is a really big house and it's going to need to be dusted.
Little miss over there, is mobile. She will put just about anything into her mouth.
While you are trying to protect her, she’s actually trying to kill herself, so you need someone
to clean." "Oh, right. Okay, um, I guess I'll need a cleaning service?"
He nodded. "I’ll get someone to come once a week."
"Just like that? You’re like a fairy godfather."
“As long as you need me, I'll be here."
"Just like Mary Poppins."
He flashed a grin. "I’m better looking than Mary Poppins."
“Fair enough. A buff Mary Poppins.” Shit. I covered my face with my hands.
“Can we just forget that I said that, again?”
"Well, maybe I don't want to forget that you said that."
"Um, it’s just—you, uh, I guess you're working for me now, so let's just pretend I'm
professional."
He chuckled then. "It's forgotten. Besides, you should probably be more worried about the
part where you grabbed my dick."
My mouth fell open as heat flushed my body. "Oh my God, I grabbed your belt."
"I mean, your mouth was like an inch from it. So, you were basically grabbing my dick."
I covered my face. "Oh my God, I'm going to die."
He chuckled. "You know what else I'm going to work on? Loosening you up so you don't
take everything so seriously. I'm teasing you. Everything is forgotten. Strictly professional."
"Exactly."
Lies. All lies.
