Book Blurb:
From USA Today Bestselling Author Maureen Smith comes a sizzling new interracial romance series featuring four sexy-as-sin hockey stars who lose their hearts on the road to winning the Stanley Cup…
Wicked Games (Book #1)
College recruiter Nadia Warner has sworn off jocks for good. So when her sports reporter brother drags her out to a hockey practice, the last thing she’s looking for is romance. But when she locks gazes with hockey superstar Reid Holden, all bets are off….
Reid is the resident bad boy of the Denver Rebels. On the ice, he delivers bone-crushing hits that often land him in the penalty box. Off the ice, he has a reputation for snubbing reporters, partying hard and breaking hearts. No woman has ever been able to crack his tough shell…until Nadia comes along.
When their eyes meet, the electricity between them is hot enough to melt the ice beneath Reid’s feet. In exchange for giving Nadia’s brother a quote for his column, Reid wants an introduction to Nadia.
But that’s just the beginning….

***UPDATED REVIEW*** I originally reviewed this book when it first came out in 2015 and I have re-read it several times since (YES… it’s that good). With more books in the series being released, I decided to update my review.
This is the full version of Wicked Games, a novella, that appeared in the 12 Alphas 12 Months anthology. I fell in love with Reid and Nadia and was excited when Ms. Smith decided to expand their story into a full length novel. Not only does it delve deeper into the relationship between Reid and Nadia, it also touches on their struggle as an interracial couple and some of the inherent biases we all have to overcome.
Nadia and her bias against athletes because of things that have happened in her past. Reid, his bias against the media and the part they played in the demise of his parent’s marriage. The immediate families, and their bias against other races and interracial dating. This book is real, it is raw, and makes no apologies.
If you have ever read a Maureen Smith book then you already know that this book is a scorcher. Be prepared for some intense and sexy scenes. And the chemistry between some of the secondary characters will have you grabbing your ice water. Even if you’ve read the short story, you need to read this ‘fuller’ version. Warning: you will need tissues towards the end.
