Full disclosure – I love these Blake Security Men. Since book 1, Shameless, I have been hooked. The Brazen Duet is no different. Still Brazen picks up the action, where book 1 left off. Oskar is trying to find whoever shot at Hailey, who is currently being held at gunpoint by her brother. I won’t add spoilers, but there are some major family dramatics in store for Hailey. As with all the Blake Security books, the theme of family is heavy in this book. Not necessarily family that you share blood with, but family that you create that you choose. On the surface, these characters seem stereotypical, the bad boy, the super alpha, the shy guy, and Oskar, the jokester. It’s like an assassin boy band. But when you peep past the surface, you see real people, with real problems, and real feelings amplified for this fictional world. All the usual elements are in this story, action, adventure, and smoking hot chemistry. Still Brazen is a great addition to this series and once again. Malone 2 does not disappoint.
